Cognitive Scientist, Musician
Hi, I'm Matt. I am a cognitive scientist, saxophonist and composer. Currently I’m wrapping up my PhD in Cognitive Science at Indiana University under the mentorship of Robert Goldstone and others.
As a cognitive scientist, I conduct experiments and develop computational models to study how thinking occurs in individuals and interacting groups of people. My dissertation research investigates coordination and joint action in improvising music ensembles.
I'm also a conservatory trained jazz saxophonist and composer. I perform in a number of ensembles based in New York City as well as here in the Midwest.
