Cognitive Scientist, Musician
Hi. My name is Matt. I'm a research scientist, saxophonist and composer. Currently I’m working as a post-doc in the Data Science group at Pacific Northwest National Lab (PNNL).
I received a PhD in Cognitive Science from Indiana University in 2020, under the mentorship of Robert Goldstone and others. Here I conducted experiments and developed computational models to study how thinking occurs in individuals and interacting groups of people. My dissertation research was aimed at understanding, and being able to quantify coordination in collaboratively improvising musicians.
I'm also an actively performing jazz saxophonist and composer.
